Assessment is the process of gathering data or evidence that shows the standard to which students’ work meets the intended program and course outcomes. SOLO Taxonomy (Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes) provides a model for different levels of understanding, including surface, deep and conceptual (Biggs and Collis 1982).
